Secondly, nutritional supplement waste is estimated to be 40% - 60% in the typical healthcare facility. A recent study showed that 62% of supplements provided over 90 days were poured down the drain. But the true cost of the supplement waste is that they often cause the patient to become so full that they loose their appetite for regular tray items. When they do not eat their regular meals, they get even more supplements, which suppresses their appetite even more. It is a wasteful, vicious cycle. ProSource Liquid Protein breaks this cycle by providing the protein supplementation the patients need without suppressing the appetite or pouring unfinished supplements down the drain. Adding ProSource Liquid Protein to popular tray items, purees, and beverages provides important protein supplementation that can't be achieved with standard supplements.
